Artemesiablack's musical style is a seductive blend of Americana, voix de ville, jazz, folk & story telling. We are a husband and wife duo - using buttery vocal harmonies, adding some wicked acoustic and electric guitar, banjouke and various other instruments with romantic notions to tell stories about the ghosts we meet. So the genre can often change depending on the characters we are portraying... romantic ghost stories from the ghost's perspective. The subject matter yes is a sobering one, but the band is not, and the songs are sometiems quirky and funny but always as diverse as the ghostly characters we catch in our musical web.

WHAT A FANTASTIC SHOW THE 14TH SEPTEMBER AT THE BLUE ROCK SHOOT WAS!
Thank you to our wonderful friends and die hard fans for your enormous love at the show. We were thrilled to show off our dear friend Chris Jercha's music (his first live performance of his own songs) who Kenny is also recording in the studio. Your presence and love made us so happy and its always so wonderful to add new friends to our little tribe of ghost friendlies. We'll keep working on our new songs and bring another show to you asap. Till then spread the love, be kind to things that go creak in the night and never be frightened. We got to surprise our friend Dan with a special birthday song we wrote just for him and we think it will be our biggest hit! ;)
CURRENTLY WORKING ON A NEW CD
We are thinking the next CD might come with a little coffee table book... of... you bet, ghost stories with photographs by Kenny Schick and stories by well... the characters. If we get really creative perhaps even a little dvd of little videos of the stories... wouldn't that be nice... now if we can but find time to make this happen my world would be a better place. I already have a number of new songs / characters I'm working on - this is my favorite part, letting my imagination run wild and letting new characters reveal themselves.
ALLWAYS LOOKING FOR COOL VENUES / ESPECIALLY THEATRES
We are always look for cool venues where we can put on our theatre type shows - we prefer these venues because our stuff is more theatrical than just singer songwriter. But we've played everywhere and we are so adaptable... so contact us if you want us to come to your town... we like playing in living rooms too... and we clean up our ghosts and take them with us when we leave :)
OYSTERS - FEATURED IN ANTERO ALLI'S FILM FLAMINGOES
Our song (or should I say Irma Fox's song) OYSTERS is privileged to be inlcuded in the sound track of Antero Alli's film FLAMINGOS. This wonderfully inspiring and thought provoking film is having huge success and very nice reviews in the media. http://www.verticalpool.com/flamingo.html A very cool review by wonderful writer Gary Singh http://www.metroactive.com/features/columns/antero-alli-flamingos-silicon-alleys_20120307.html We played a few songs at the San Jose premiere at the Anno Domini gallery after the showing of the film. We felt so privileged and honored to be included not only on the night but in the film.

"Thank you SO much for the beautiful tracks. Although they are quite different, the feel of both them and their effect on me is similar. There is a lovely, gentle haunting in them that echoes in me and compels me to return to them time and again. You and Kenny do indeed make beautiful music together. Bless you for sharing your gifts with us." Linda Dunjey
"I LOVED LOVED Francis Rae!! Great harmony and rhythm, with excellent guitar picking." Peggy Oshea
"... we absolutely heard a very similar spirit! .. we like VERY much what we heard! ... personal / unique music that does not long for certain *cliches / sounds / scenes* .. but a direct output from the heart ... a detail ... your voice ... has much of *classical* lady singers .. but does not remind on someone .. too many singers today add certain effects to the singing to *fake* feeling ... your voice / music creates a *world* .. a real feeling... pictures ... !!! ... real .. what I call *music*! - Lord Litter (German DJ - kwtf.net, RadioMarabu.de, DuckDuckGo.com, OpenStreetMap.org, and with Meta Georgia - duo with Hilke Hesse)
